The Ultimate Wedding Playlist
When my husband and I got married in 2017 at Strathmere, we KNEW our first dance song already, we were so confident in our soundtrack of the day: Savage Garden and Backstreet Boys, done. And then we paused and realized we probably needed a few other songs. I turned to good old Google and Spotify, and thus our wedding playlist was settled.
Our day still had Savage Garden and BSB, along with some song covers, and Spice Girls. We also hired a DJ that took creative liberties and did a remarkable job reading the room and playing the perfect music. Our wedding day playlist was "so us."
The Ultimate Wedding Playlist is subjective, after all it's YOUR day, play the music you want. There have been moments where I have overheard "Why would they pick that song?" and one look at the couple beaming at each other, completely enveloped in the nostalgia and evoked the emotion of that song and it makes TOTAL sense.
Ideas to help you pick the perfect playlist:
Guest Playlist: Have guests note a favourite dance song on your RSVP cards.
Create a Do-NOT Playlist for your DJ: Maybe there is a genre of music that you don't enjoy or a popular song you dislike, don't let those tunes sour your day!
Have a Playlist Party: Pop the champagne and pick music with your besties OR if you have picked a playlist play this at the party to get input from your friends.
